Lough Erne’s Shore, Andrew Irwin’s debut album, is Andrew’s tribute to his beloved homeland, Ireland. The CD contains eight new arrangements, commissioned for the album. Neil Martin’s arrangements of Five Fermanagh Folk Songs are the first ever ‘classical’ arrangements of these beautiful traditional songs from Andrew’s home county. Michael Papadopoulos has arranged the famous Carrickfergus and the popular songs by Percy French The Mountains of Mourne and Come Back Paddy Reilly for the album. All songs on the album have influence from Ireland, either the composer/arranger, or the poet, or indeed both. This includes everything ranging from popular favourites such as Danny Boy to Robert Schumann’s settings of two Thomas Moore poems.
